I am starting a series about my make up collection. And this is the first part.
In this article, I will talk about my current face primers and setting sprays.
As a Make up Artist, I use these two products and I believe they are essential in doing someone else’s make up.
These two important steps prepares and set down the face before and after application of make up.
Personally, I don’t use much of these two products for myself. On an everyday basis, I opt for a simple make up routine. Unless I am going into a special occasion or I’m out and about for a long time, I am not using these two products.
The only two face primers that I own are MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ and Benefit the Porefessional Pore Primer.

I don’t even use MAC fix + as a primer lol. I just have it just in case I need to spray my brushes for an added effect on the eyeshadow. This is truly excellent though for priming the face. I used this a lot when I was freelancing.

Benefit the Porefessional is really useful for me. But again I don’t use it often. I have been using this for years, I have repurchased this again and again preferably the travel size tube because I don’t need that much. I only use it in my cheek area where I have large pores.
The two setting sprays that I currently own are: Urban decay All Nighter Make up Setting Spray and Skindinavia the Make up Finishing Spray. Both are really great. Both produced by Skindinavia. Again I only have travel size bottles because I don’t often use them. But I must say that I enjoy them a lot.

I used to use setting sprays everyday during my twenties. I’ve got problematic and really oily skin so I’ve always figured I needed this product to improve my make up and to make it last. While that is so true, I don’t want to exaggerate anymore. I also had various experiences with some of the brands that I’ve tried in the past.
And now in my 30s, I notice that my skin has been improving I really want to take more care on my skin rather than piling up lots of unnecessary make up products on top of it. I realized I don’t really need that much of a product.
So I am fairly satisfied with what I own. At least I don’t have to pile up products that aren’t really my jam. I only have what I use and need. As what my mantra is now: “Less is more”.
