This is another moisturiser from La Roche Posay. It belongs to the Effaclar line which caters to oily skin and acne-prone skin.

I’ve already discussed how I super love my all time favourite, Hydreane Legere. And from that product I decided to check out the Effaclar line which is supposed to be appropriate for my skin type.
Effaclar Mat is actually a mattifying cream. It claims to regulate oil and shine. And also tightens pores.
It contains Sebulyse which helps mattify the skin. It has Microspheres which help absorb excess oil. While LHA gives delicate microexfoliation.

My thoughts come back to Uriage Hyseac spf50+, which I’ve already discussed in one of my articles. They have a similar finish and both are mattifying. Both caters to oily skin. And sadly, both broke me out.
I’ve tried to like Effaclar Mat but unfortunately my skin acts up everytime I apply this cream. I kinda like how it controls oil but at the same time I feel that it clogged my pores a lot. Therefore resulting into acne and break outs.
To be honest, I do not believe the claims some skincare products say. I have lived with large pores ever since I was young and I am fully aware that no matter what I do or what products I use on my face, they will never be diminished.
I also tried mixing this with Hydreane Legere the way I did with Uriage just to finish it up but still.. I wasn’t that comfortable.
We all have different reactions to products even though we have the same skin types. So I really do want to tell you that this is just based on my experience. It doesn’t mean that the product isn’t valid. You might like this if you have oily skin as it can also be a good base for make up, and I promise you, it really is mattifying. Your make up will last long before you are gonna be oily. So it is really up to you to try out the product and see for yourself. Unfortunately for me, I’m not gonna repurchase this again.
