La Roche Posay Lipikar stick

In my last skin care article, I have told you about my skin issue within the past few weeks and that thankfully now is healing, This is actually one of the products that kind of accompanied me during my whole journey.

La Roche-Posay lipikar stick ap+
La Roche-Posay

I already have written a lot of articles about La Roche-Posay. I have dedicated a whole series of all the skin products from each line of the brand that I have tried. And up until this day, I am still loving my products.

We are going back to the LIPIKAR Line. This is the line which caters to dry skin, sensitive skin and the atopic skin types, and I believe- ok im not diagnosed- BUT I BELIEVE I have developed eczema.

This happened at the start of September. And it got worse last october. I tried to wait and see if it is something about the seasons changing.

I really don’t know how it started. I don’t have a clue. I just found myself suddenly having all these kind of redness that is so rough and itchy. All of the symptoms point to Atopic dermatitis which is also known as eczema.

I held myself back from going to the dermatologist and I hoped for the best that it would pass. And it did. Now my skin is improving. Right now, at the beginning of december, all the scabs suddenly disappeared just as how suddenly they came. I’m not really sure what I did, or what made it go away,

And during those weeks that I was suffering from this skin issue, I looked into the La Roche-Posay brand again and I checked out Lipikar.

I discovered this stick, it is called the Lipikar Stick Ap+ and it looks like a deodorant hahhaha but yes, it is for the skin that is very dry and red and this helps relieve the skin from the itchiness which is I think the most horrible part. for me at least. I could not sleep at night, guys. It was really driving me crazy. And so I bought this, I thought, I just wanted something that would calm the itchiness, you know.

I love how practical the packaging is. It’s tiny you can actually carry it with you or insert it inside your pouch. It is colorless so it doesn’t stain the clothes. It is a dry formula too, so you won’t feel any stickiness or any damp feeling in your skin.

So whenever I felt that something was itchy, I tried my best not to use my nails and aggravate my skin but instead I reached for this and rub it on the area of the red patches.

According to the product’s description, it can be applied anywhere in the body:

  • elbows/arms
  • knees/legs
  • hands

and on the face as well

It is also safe to use for everyone in the family, even newborn babies, and then kids and adults.
So I really love that.

I don’t think it has a limit too.I mean I didn’t find anything that says you can apply this only once. Because I do apply this multiple times during the day. Although I don’t feel the need to apply it halfway through the day, the itchiness is usually worse at night. So I apply this whenever I feel that itchy stinging sensation on my skin.

It also says on the product description that it hydrates the skin.
I like this product but I should be honest guys, I didn’t notice any difference at all. The scabs remained scabs, you know what I mean, there’s still a lot of dryness and roughness so I don’t think it adds hydration to the skin. And also it didn’t promise at all that your skin will get better or the eczema will go away because it is absolutely not a medication. So the hydration part I doubt that because I didn’t experienced it for myself.

La Roche-Posay boasts the following ingredients on this Lipikar stick:

AQUA POSAE FILIFORMIS
it is an exclusive ingredient that acts on the different factors that contribute to extremely dry skin.

NIACINAMIDE
This is also very present in their other products. This has a soothing effect on the skin, for itch and restoring the skin’s lipid barriers. Of course this is an important ingredient for atopic skin types.

KARITÉ BUTTER
It has lots of nutrients that is good for the skin.

This is an active ingredient in the Lipikar line’s formula.
It restores the skin’s hydrolipids which is similar to the skin’s natural lipids barrier.

Here is my overall take on this. I remember the Lipikar gel wash back then and it didn’t work for me because at that time, I didn’t have the dry skin problem. And now, I have found this stick that seemed to have worked when I needed it.
But the thing is, it took awhile for it to take effect as I rubbed this on my skin pretty hard because of the itchiness. I really had to wait a little bit. but, you know, for all it’s worth, it works. That is all I am gonna say.

I read through the internet that Atopic dermatitis is caused by a lot of different factors. I haven’t pinpoint what caused mine like what I said I had to adjust during those weeks that I’ve suffered from the flare. I needed to change my habits, I had to change my shower products which I will be discussing on my future skin care article, I had to be very careful of my clothes too because they say some types of fabric will irritate the skin more. It was just horrible. I wouldnt wish this to anybody, it was really hard to cope with.

That is all I’m gonna say, be mindful, stay safe and take good care of your skin, guys.

See you on my next article!
