This is another gluten-free product which has always been a preference for me as a snack. Not necessarily gluten-free but because I love the crunchy simple snack plus the dark chocolate too! And I did mention how all the gluten-free snacks I have tried are yummy!

Although there are a lot of variants and flavors now, I do sometimes just get the plain ones, that is very basic hahaha But if I want to have a little bit more than basic then I always opt for Dark chocolate flavor like this. Very crunchy and very chocolatey!
The dark chocolate one I bought from Todis, it is a local supermarket near our apartment where I grocery shop very often.
And I really like it a lot. I have bought this again and again.
Nutritional Value per portion 1 pack has 4 rice cakes, and each portion of 2 35g:
- Energy 167 kcal 8%
- Fats 7,10g 10%
- Saturated Fats 4,600g 23%
- Carbohydrates 22,90g 9%
- Sugar 10,40g 12%
- Fibre 1,1g
- Protein 2,30g 5%
- Salt 0,00g 0%
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find more information about this particular brand. But I have found some interesting facts about rice cakes.
Rice cakes are made with the whole grain of rice. They contain all the nutritional properties typical of rice. To prepare them, the puffed rice grains are heated with steam and then pressed until the famous rounded wafer is obtained.
Benefits of a rice cake:
- they are low in fat
- contain less salt than some types of bread or crackers
- they bring a good amount of mineral salts
- brown rice cakes are even richer in dietary fiber
- they are gluten-free (pay attention to those produced with added gluten rice)
- they are practical to take everywhere
- they are versatile and represent an excellent basis for preparing sweet and savory recipes
I do choose this over chips sometimes.
And I always say this, guys, I do eat chips and sweets when I want to, I just do in moderation. I believe that anything could be taken moderately. But in my mind sometimes I prefer rice cakes more than chips or more than sweet biscuits thinking that in some way, it is healthier. And yes, eating rice cakes for me should be moderate as well.
