I have found this chocolate powder at Castroni, yet again! hahahah I have discovered a lot of awesomeness in that store and this is another find that I want to share with you.

This is not a typical dark chocolate powder which is my favorite and to be honest I did pick up the wrong one LOL! I wanted the dark chocolate variant but I ended up picking the Classic. I only noticed when I got home. hahaha!
And you all know my passion for dark chocolate and yet I also kind of talked about other chocolatey food items here in my blog.
So I thought, ok fine, I did some research and I always enjoy finding history behind a certain product or a certain brand.

The fact that this is proudly made in Italy is one of the reasons why I got curious, too.

La Cioccodelizia Babbi is a chocolate powder made for the intense pleasure of a hot chocolate in a cup. This is a box made of 6 mono packs.

Being a classic chocolate let’s look at the Ingredients:

• sugar
• cacao powder 32,4%
• potato starch
• Skimmed MILK powder
• Salt
• Flavorings

Be mindful that this may contain eggs and soy. But don’t you worry it is GLUTEN FREE! This might be a good chocolate drink for you all gluten intolerants out there!

Romagna is an Italian region rich in tradition and gastronomic culture.
In 1952 Attilio Babbi founded l’Azienda Dolciaria Babbi which was mainly dedicated to production of cones, wafers and semi-finished products for master ice cream makers.

Because of the quality and freshness offered with their ingredients, it became a point of reference for masters of artisans ice cream.

Confectionary was created years after, when Nonno Attilio had this idea of creating another product line which would be available also during the winter season. Thus Wafer Viennesi and i Waferini were born. Now these are very well-known across the globe.

In the following years, Nonno Attilio was joined in the management by his son Giulio who developed the commercial network also outside the territory of origin. In addition to developing the traditional activity, his grandchildren Carlo, Gianni and Piero created a new department within the company producing superfine ice creams and desserts- so exclusive and imaginative as to deserve the nickname of “legend of Italian ice cream”.

I have always been amazed at how companies have been able to retain their original traditional products while moving forward to changes in the market. I think that is a strong quality for a brand with a strong foundation yet fearless in evolving with time. I think Babbi with 70 years of experience in sweet specialty and the art of confectionery has led them to being one of the top in the market gifting the people with the delight and pleasure of chocolate.

Now they have a variety of products in each product line, and this chocolate powder is one of them with having Classic, Dark Chocolate and White Chocolate flavor!

It is always interesting to find products like this and I am happy to share it with you as they deserve to be shared to the entire world.
