Organic Oats Drink

I reached for this at the supermarket not having a clue hahahha but! Omg guys, I think this drink is really good. And this is different from all of theother drinks I tried. This is more liquidy and not very milky and I like it that way. It is not upsetting to the tummy. I do use this as milk in the morning for my cereals and even my cappuccino.

There is not much of information about this brand in particular so I just have to insert the information on the pack.

Being organic, it is expected to be low fat and no salt. I like that this is sugar free and lactose free

Soy is an excellent source of vegetable protein. Of course it is perfect for people who do not consume animal protein, whether for health or ethical reasons. Soy provides proteins of high nutritional quality: in particular, it contains the nine essential amino acids that our body is unable to synthesize and therefore need to be ingested through food.

It is a fundamental nutrient for the proper functioning of our body. In fact, it is included in the diet of athletes, people who ar einto sports, and wellness enthusiasts. Protein impacts positivity on metabolism, energy and development of lean body mass.

Crunchy Burger

Crockburger is a crunchy vegetable burger which is produced mainly with pumpkin and dried tomatoes until Zerbinati expanded the range with 4 new other variants based on legumes and vegetables.

Vegetable burgers and croquettes are dressed in a refined breading with a unique and irresistible taste. Thanks to its crunchiness and distinctive ingredients, the new “Crock” line offers consumers a quick, tasty and balanced meal. 100% vegetable and without preservatives, Crockburgers and Crockettes are ready in a few minutes in an air fryer, but also in a pan and in the oven.

Lentil crockburgers (2x80g), available in versions with spinach and herbs and with pumpkin and sun-dried tomatoes, have a super crunchy cornflake breading, unique on the market, and are a source of protein. I was quite impressed to be honest about the breading as I love cornflakes. It has always been a part of my breakfast diet and it is good to know that I can also eat it at lunch LOL!

Inspired by the most popular recipes on the market, the “Crock” line uses the vegetables most loved by Italians (spinach, pumpkin, zucchini and potatoes) combining all the taste and crunchiness with nutritional aspects: the whole range is in fact rich in fiber and protein.

  • dried tomatoes

This may contain soy, mustard, egg and milk so be mindful if you cannot eat these.

The packaging is colorful and captivating, to capture the consumer’s attention, and accepts the trend of the air fryer – the most popular cooking method of the moment. But of course the pan and the oven are good too. I personally cooked it using the old traditional pan hehehe.

It can be cooked in the pan, in the oven, in the air fryer.

Remove the tray from the cardboard, remove the protective film and heat the burger in a non-stick pan with hot oil for 8 minutes, turning it frequently.

This is another delicious discovery! I really love it and I will definitely try the other flavors too!

Organic Kamut Wheat Bread

I used to not mind what kind of bread I buy. I would have preferred a fresh one from the bakery but it is not something that can be conserved for a long time. So I always end up purchasing loaf bread from the grocery store.

This is the organic Kamut Wheat bread  I just recently discovered this because of a friend. This is from the Essenza line of the brand Roberto. This is a product line which caters to healthy well-being.

It is suitable for vegetarians, it has no animal fat. It is Vegan and organic

It all began in a province in Treviso. Mario Canzian was working in apprenticeship  in a bakeshop after a year decided to take over. The job is hard and preparing bread overnight is really long. But his passion is stronger. Mario began to create new food products like grissini.

The oven is really small that it can’t provide all of the requests. The first factory was born. Roberto Alimentare, this is the name chosen by Mario for his son and for his company.

The products are increasing and have captured the Italian families’ heart. They made food products like grissini, sliced bread, bruschetta, hamburgers and other savory snacks.

But the passion for good bread remains…

I feel like this is the softest sliced bread I have ever tried, guys, it is incredible. It is almost as fresh straight from the oven. I have never tried any wheat Kamut before and it is really good!.Please do try this one out, you won’t regret it.

Thank you so much for reading. I will see you on my next article! Ciao!

Tofu

This is another food item that is now included in my favorite list.

I have been familiar with this ever since. Some philippine dishes use this as an ingredient.

According to my research, Tofu is a product obtained by curdling soy milk which in turn is the extract result from yellow soy beans. And it is pressed into blocks with special dedicated tools to making cheese. The production of tofu from soy milk is similar to that of cheese from cow’s milk that is why tofu is often also referred to as “vegetable cheese”.

This is very much used not only in the Philippines but also in other oriental countries. It has neutral taste and very soft in consistency.

Block tofu is also called “dry tofu”: this is the most easily available product in large-scale distribution. And this is actually the tofu that i know! It has a firm consistency, and can be cut into slices or cubes .

Silken tofu or velvety tofu on the other hand, is not yet found in large retailers but in organic food stores. You can find it both in trays and in tetrapak packages. Its consistency is very similar to that of a very soft pudding. It is used in vegan pastry to obtain spoon creams, fillings to guarantee consistency and a good binding power in doughs.

Tofu contains a discreet amount of vegetable fats and minerals like magnesium, iron, phosphorus, and calcium that is why this is a good supplement for bone strength. This is also a variant for meat as it is rich in vegetable proteins. It has very small amounts of calories. No fats and no cholesterol.

I do know that vegetarians and vegans love this food item because of this reason.
In fact, out of 100 g of product we have 15 g of proteins, 10.5 g of fats and 1 g of carbohydrates. It is also perfect for those suffering from celiac disease because it is gluten-free

It is generally safe to consume unless particular soy allergies have been found or if a person is affected by tumor or thyroid problems.

This particular brand I have already featured in one of my articles. Verde Amore has other vegan and vegetarian products just like the veggie burger that I have talked about here in my blog. I am really glad to find Tofu in their product line.

It has a simple taste and it can be cooked as a part of a dish or just plainly this bread, pasta or rice and even salad! Filipinos do use this to make pansit which is a very well-known party dish in the Philippines which is a variant of the Chinese soy spaghetti noodles.

Please do consult your healthcare provider if you aren’t allergic to soy or you don’t have any medical condition, you won’t have any problems consuming this.

I appreciate this more now that I am on the look out for nutritious food. I really like it a lot. It is simple and healthy at the same time. It is so easy to prepare and cook. Highly-recommended! With the growing market, it is now highly available even in grocery stores and supermarkets.

As always, thank you for reading! I hope you find this helpful. See you on my next article!

Oats

In my last article, I have talked about a skincare product which has this as a main ingredient.

oats
cereals

Oats are one of the cereals which brings a lot of health benefits. It is good for our gut, the heart, skin and hair, too! I eat this for breakfast at least once a week. Since I can’t drink milk alone, I try to mix in some cereals.

I am aware that this is rich in fibre and it has omega as the one which helps lower cholesterol. Believe it or not, I was surprised to know that by doing all the blood tests I have discovered I have high cholesterol. They said it is also hereditary or it runs in the family. And I blame my parents for that LOL Just kidding. Maybe when I was younger I didn’t know I had lots of bad cholesterol and ate a lot of unnecessary food. I am really glad that now I have become aware of what I should avoid or maybe lessen when it comes to food items that I eat.

According to my research, oats have vitamin A and vitamin B and lots of minerals. And also.. it is rich in protein! So for all of you guys who are building muscles, maybe you are already aware of this, oats are good for you. For vegans and vegetarians this is already a part of their diet.

Now I realize this is why a lot of bars, snacks and drinks has oats as an ingredient and I don’t really mind that. This will also help if you want to loose a little bit of weight because eating oats will make you stay full for a while.

This is also gluten-free, so for people who suffer in consuming gluten, then this is safe for you to eat..

oats
cereals

Let us take a look at the nutritional value per 100g of this particular oat bran from Tesori del Forno:

  • Energy 344kcal
  • Fats 9,4g saturated fats 1,6g
  • Carbohydrates 40,3g sugar 0,2g
  • Fiber 16,0g
  • Protein 16,6g
  • salt <0,1g

Other benefits:

  • provides energy
  • anti infiamatory
  • anti ageing because of protection from free radicals
  • antioxidant
  • helps in digestion

These are the reasons why oats are also being used as an ingredient for skin care, hair care products.

Oats come in flakes, grains, biscuits, flour and even milk so you have a lot of choices on how to consume this cereal.

Just like all of the other food items that I discuss here in my blog, I always mention a disclaimer that, you have to know your body, consult your healthcare provider because this might be an allergen for you. Althought it is very rare that oats can be an allergen, but at least be mindful.

I hope you like this article. Let me know your thoughts! Do you like oats? Is this part of your diet? I would love to hear from you. Thank you for reading. See you on my next article! Ciao!

Pistacchio

Ciao everyone!

I just shared with you all my current favourite Pistacchio cream that I have been devouring almost everyday. And now I started to crave for the real pistacchio LOL.

Pistacchio

This is a dry fruit from Pistacia vera, which belongs to the family tree of Anacardiaceae. This is a fruit enclosed with a thin yet tough shell.
The origin of this fruit is the middle east. In fact this particular one that I got as the packaging suggests come from Iran. It was in Persia that it has been cultivated first during prehistoric age. Nowadays the major producer of Pistacchio are Iran, Turkey and California USA.

It has been brought here in Italy and the production has major success in the south in the island of Sicily. The renowned Pistacchi di Bronte now has claimed a DOP mark.

Pistacchio can be eaten without the rough skin, usually toasted and salted. This is why this partcular one that I got from the grocery store is in fact toasted and salted. I kinda regretted taking the salted one. We all know that too much salt is not healthy. But hey, pistacchio is really prepared as it is so that is how they are sold commercially.

But I guess the fresh natural pistacchio is much better, guys. These dry fruits are actually poor in sodium and cholesterol and it is rich in vitamin B6, thiamine, copper, phosphorus, potassium, iron and manganese. By virtue of the high lipid content, the energy intake is very high. This is why most vegan and vegetarians incorporate this in their diet and one of the most loved dry fruits out there.

They are also used like most of the relative dry fruits from the family, in the kitchen and in pastry shops in order to prepare ice cream, creams, drinks and also they are used for salumi production- yes some mortadellas have pistacchio in them (the ones produced in Bologna), and also as sauce or condiments for first and second dishes.

Let us look at the health benefits of pistacchio:

lowers bad cholesterol
protects the heart
prevents tumor
protects eyesight
maintains nervous health system
protects our skin
and contrasts diabetes type 2

Nutritional value per 100g

  • Energy 637 kcal
  • Fats 56g saturated fats 6,4 g
  • Carbohydrates 6,9g sugar 4,7g
  • Fibre 10g
  • Proteine 22g
  • Salt 2,1 g
  • Potassium 1060mg

Guys, I already mentioned this in my article last week that I am not very particular into dry fruits, I mean, I eat them but not my favorite. And it was incredible that the pistacchio cream has now lead me to appreciate this. And now I want to eat more LOL. When I saw it at the grocery store, I thought, ok I’ll pick this up. If I liked the cream then I shall love the snack version too!

This particular one from Chips & Lips will now be part of my snack especially if I am at work. The pack is really small and easy to carry so I guess it is really cool. Again, not a fan of salty, if you can find a natural one it is much better, toasted yes but not salty guys. I also know that some people have allergies so they cannot eat dry fruits. We are all different and this might be a good food item because of its health benefits but I understand that not all people can tollerate this. So please just be mindful.

That is it. I hope you find this article interesting. Every time I find an interesting food item it is really enjoyable for me to do research because aside from the fact that I can share these info to you, I also learn at the same time.

Thank you so much for reading! See you on my next article!

Vegan Meatballs

I already have featured in one of my articles this brand which offers vegan and vegetarian food items. It is such a good find and I am so thrilled to try the other goodies.

They are kinda cute, because they are so tiny. It is not the usual size because they are minis! These are pumpkin and carrot meatballs!!! wow guys! wow!
I haven’t even imagined being able to taste something similar to meat.
It is very light on the stomach I didn’t have any problems at all. I love both veggies anyway. The color and sweetness is just right! It can be eaten as simple as it is or an ingredient to your recipes and meals mainly appetizer.

For all the vegetarians out there, this has high protein content, no soy at all so it is kinda new because most of the vegan food items I have tried have soy in them

It can be prepared using the oven or the pan.

Vegetable Croquettes

To all of you who likes Croquettes and prefers veggies, you will definitely like this.
