I have another skincare product for you, guys. This is my latest find from La Roche-Posay.
You all know how I love La Roche-Posay products. I have tried a lot of products from each of their skincare lines and my skin clearly didn’t complain at all. I have talked about their products here in my blog. (If you want to check them out, please do).
I won’t be able to discuss this product without telling you that I have undergone a small skin operation. It is called a ‘skin biopsy’. Yes guys. I have always been transparent with you about my thoughts on every subject in each of my article. And it isn’t easy to share my thoughts if I won’t talk about something personal, too.
It is not a secret that I have issues regarding my skin which started last autumn- which I can say it is much better now. This permits me to discuss the products I have tried because of this skin condition. And yes I have suffered a lot in the true sense of the word. I have been in and out of the dermatologist’s office just to solve this issue.
So I have to tell you that I am diagnosed with “eczema cronica”. This has pushed me to use products that might help my skin . And yes, I know, unfortunately there is no cure. The only way to go is to take good care of my skin as much as I can.
Let’s go back to the surgery, skin biopsy is a very minor operation which consists of extracting a part of the skin so that it can be sent to the laboratory to be examined to determine the kind of skin problem. The dermatologist chose a patch of that dry itchy skin and told me to have that piece of my skin be examined as it was the freshest dry patch I have all over my body. They extracted a patch of my skin on my right leg! and stitched it back! Yes ! I had a stitch! The result came back, and that is when I knew that I have eczema.
That is when the dermatologist has prescribed me the right medication. And I am grateful because finally I have a solution to that problem, and I am aware of what is going on with my skin. But after a certain period of time, I needed a daily long term skincare regimen that I had to constantly use. And therefore I started my search for the skin products that might suit my skin needs.
In the meantime, after a few months, the biopsy has finally healed but the scar remained. So I needed something to at least lighten that area on my leg.
I then found out about Cicaplast line from La Roche-Posay I wasn’t aware of it before.
Cicaplast is a line which is multipurpose because it soothes redness, repairs and protects the skin barrier. It also offers hypoallergenic formulation. The combination of agents which contrasts bacterial adhesion which then improves the optimal recovery of the skin: the skin’s barrier is restored more quickly. It leaves the skin with more elasticity and relieves comfort.

It is a gel called Gel B5 tested mainly on skin with scars, post peeling and post laser to help skin regeneration.
The active ingredients which helps skin recovery are:
- 5% Panthenol- s also known as Vitamin B5, an active ingredient renowned for its soothing and repairing properties * on the skin. * repairs the barrier function
- La Roche-Posay thermal water
- Madecassoside is an exceptional extract of Asian Centella. It is a herb with restorative properties. It is a soothing agent that helps promote the renewal of the epidermis.
- Copper– Zinc – Manganese is an active complex that protects against the proliferation of bacteria
- Hyaluronic Acid for the skin’s elasticity
- Shea butter
- glycerine makes it easy to apply on the skin. I find it very pleasant and cool whenever I apply it, not sticky at all and so easy to spread and so delicate and not heavy on the skin. No burning sensation at all it just really nice.
This gel should be applied under dermatologist supervision after a peeling or laser treatment. It is non comedogenic formula. It has no perfume at all and I appreciate that a lot. Even the tube packaging is so convenient especially for a gel product. I find it also interesting that it can be used by both children and adults. Therefore it is so delicate that even children can actually use this product. It can be used for face, lips and body!
It is advised to daily apply this gel by massaging it into the skin to improve the appearance of recent marks (after scarring or removal of stitches). It can also be applied twice a day to the patches of dry skin.
After superficial aesthetic procedures, follow the directions of the dermatologist.
Beware and not apply this gel to injured skin.
Avoid the eye area!

Ok, guys, disclaimer, I want you to consult your doctor or your dermatologist before trying this product. I would be honest but please don’t follow my example, I didn’t ask my dermatologist.
When I discovered this product from La Roche-Posay I just went ahead and bought it! It is not a smart thing to do, in fact on the product description they actually do advice you to seek dermatologist opinion. So please just do that. I am here not to push this product but I am just here informing and sharing about my experience.
I have of course listened to my dermatologist after the procedure. I did wait for several months before trying out a product for the scar. I made sure I didn’t touch the area where I had the operation until it is completely healed. Then it started to itch after a few months and that is when I know that my skin is healing. I waited more and more weeks until the itch is gone and my skin looks more flat. It was really uncomfortable guys! But I knew I had to wait.
Finally when I know that my skin had its time that is when I started to look at products for the scarring.
I discovered this on La Roche-Posay’s website so I just went ahead and bought it. I tried it and guys, I think it really made a difference. The scar was so dark and it lightened considerably! I was shocked. Even my mom can testify to this because she noticed it too.
Of course, time is also a factor I truly believe in that. However added skin gel can do such wonders and helps accelerate regeneration, too. So I highly recommend this gel. I think it is amazing. I don’t have any negative thing to say to La Roche-Posay it is very valid and the products are high quality skin products.
Just always consult your health care provider, it is really important guys. And as always, my advice is to listen to your body, listen to your skin whatever it is telling you, you will know.
Thank you so much for reading, I will see you on my next article! Ciao!
